School Profile

Ipswich North State School is a metropolitan primary school located in close proximity to the Ipswich Business hub. Our school currently has approximately 240 students from Prep to Year 6 in a coeducational environment where teachers are focused on building positive relationships with their students and families.
Ipswich North State School offers a modern, relevant curriculum where planning, assessment and reporting is aligned to the Australian Curriculum.
The Ipswich North community is represented by students from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds. Inclusivity is a high priority to ensure that all students are given the opportunity to be the best they can be in a supportive school environment that focuses our core business of learning.
Ipswich North State School aspires to be the number one school of choice for families. In supporting families and children, the school works strongly with the community through highly effective communication, parent information sessions, interviews, Facebook pages and fortnightly newsletters to develop strong community support for student learning, enriched early childhood experiences, strong care and welfare for children, regular school attendance and a high valuing of the goals and culture of the school.
We have an active Parent and Citizens Association that provides support to the school, operationally as well as financially and welcomes new parents. They meet twice during the  school term on a Monday night at 6.30pm in the staffroom.
A safe and supportive school environment is promoted to optimize learning. Our Positive Behaviour for learning processes provide clear guidelines to students and the community around our high expectations for behaviour. Our positive reinforcement and consistent practices ensure that learning is always the focus. Our Responsible Behaviour Plan for students has been developed in line with Education Qld's Code of School Behaviour.
